A well-established organization in the construction materials sector is seeking a highly meticulous Buyer to manage both local and international purchasing. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, thrives on accuracy, and is confident handling imports, supplier negotiations, and stock planning.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers.
- Analyse sales reports and stock trends to plan purchasing schedules.
- Oversee purchasing of materials locally and abroad, ensuring alignment with demand and lead times.
- Handle all administrative buying functions, including data management on the ERP system.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders on shipments, customs, and deliveries.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms with global suppliers.
- Verify VAT, duties, and compliance for all import transactions.
- Maintain accurate records on Sage Evolution.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree in Finance/Accounting preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of Sage Evolution (daily use).
- Experience in procurement or freight forwarding.
- Understanding of sea freight logistics, import processes, and documentation.
- Excellent numerical accuracy and financial attention to detail.
- Experience in construction or materials supply is advantageous.
