Accounts Payable and Assets Manager
Reporting To
Senior Finance Manager
Job Purpose
To lead and manage the Accounts Payable and Fixed Assets functions across the organisation, ensuring strong financial controls, compliance with policies, and accurate financial reporting. The role is responsible for optimising working capital, maintaining asset integrity, and supporting audit processes while developing a high-performing finance team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounts Payable Management
•
Oversee end-to-end accounts payable processes across all regions
•
Review and approve creditor reconciliations and payment runs
•
Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments
•
Monitor AP aging and drive resolution of outstanding balances
•
Manage supplier relationships and resolve escalated queries
•
Enforce internal controls, policies, and compliance requirements
•
Optimise payment terms and support cash flow management
•
Lead AP-related audit deliverables and ensure audit readiness
2. Fixed Assets Management
•
Maintain and ensure accuracy of the fixed asset register
•
Oversee asset capitalisation, transfers, and disposals
•
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
•
Conduct periodic asset verifications and reconciliations
•
Standardise asset classification and processes across regions
•
Monitor asset lifecycle management and reporting
•
Prepare asset audit schedules and support external/internal audits
3. CAPEX Oversight
•
Ensure CAPEX spend complies with Delegation of Authority (DoA)
•
Monitor capital projects against budgets and timelines
•
Oversee CWIP (Capital Work in Progress) and ensure timely capitalisation
•
Partner with project managers to manage cost overruns and delays
•
Maintain audit-ready documentation for all CAPEX activity
4. Financial Control & Compliance
•
Strengthen internal controls across AP and asset functions
•
Ensure compliance with IFRS/local GAAP and company policies
•
Review and clear reconciling items and high-risk balances
•
Support internal and external audits, including year-end processes
•
Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks
