Job Purpose:

Selling subscription to our Africa Mining IQ (AMIQ) Digital Information Portal that provides mining-related data, insights, and networking opportunities to companies supplying goods/services to the mining industry throughout Africa. It sits at the intersection of industry knowledge, consultative selling, and data-driven value propositions.



Mainstream Subscribing Companies would be: Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM’s), Service Providers and Distributors. This is typically a B2B (business-to-business) sales role. The job is a combination of generating new and renewal sales to build and grow a sales portfolio, industry knowledge and relationship management to retain sales.



Key Responsibilities

1. Lead Generation & Prospecting:

Identify target Clients local and internationally.

Research companies involved in selling to the mining sector and understand competitors in subsectors e.g. Process Automation. This gives the salesperson the competitive advantage.

Effective and Planned Cold Calling is key with less e-mailing and LinkedIn outreach to generate sales meetings.



2. Sales & Pitching:

Research Prospect: Understand the Client, when the company was established, size of operation, who are their Opposition, size of Sales Team, Company Structure if it’s part of a Holding or Group of Companies, establish Decision Making Power Base. Through this probing identify why the Prospect needs AMIQ services.

3. Service Offering Knowledge:

Understand the portals benefits to the Prospect (not our features) –

✓Build a Strategic Sales Plan by understanding Industry Trends and when this changes through Analytical Reporting.

✓Build Relationships with Mining Project Consultants to Influence Tenders to get specified in the 5x types of Feasibility Studies. This is an advantage on Mining Projects critical due to the closed tender environment.

✓Rekindle and grow Key Accounts/End Customer by understanding your Client (the Mine Owner) better.

✓Focus the Prospects sales efforts and save time.



4. Negotiation and Closing:

➢Reconfirm the sales solution AMIQ offer to problem areas identified through the probing process.

➢Establish decision making processes of the Prospect.

➢Show our financial competitive structure on costing to overcome price objection
